Force-mix Architecture Capabilities to Effects Tool (FACET)
IPT’s Force-mix Architecture Capabilities to Effects Tool (FACET) is a rapid mission analysis and decision support tool for defense and intelligence enterprises. FACET performs modeling and simulation (M&S) that defines and analyzes force-mixes, architectures, future force structures, new systems, and system upgrades in an operational context. The tool is geared to improve military performance by showing senior decision-makers the data they need to make effective decisions on operations, programs, and acquisitions.
FACET assesses mission utility and transforms data into decision-ready information.
FACET facilitates top-level cost-benefit trades of force mixes that feed detailed physics-based models, while providing traceability that is mapped to operational demands, intelligence collection priorities, and system capabilities. The tool communicates quantitative and qualitative system characteristics and provides visibility across multiple scenarios, phases, and domains. FACET enables leadership to narrow the force-mix decision space by effectiveness, cost, platform, impact, comms, and risk. FACET technology allows for rapid excursions (alternative model runs with changes in variables) across all operational phases, enhancing the ability to quickly integrate emerging threats or changing systems, manipulate the data, and perform the analysis.
FACET is the agile M&S tool required to handle the increasing complexity of the evolving strategic environments, and can address the broad range of global challenges at hand.
